Title: CS3 - Consider Approval of the Renewal Application for Everglades Preparatory Academy Charter School

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Charter Renewal Application for Everglades Preparatory Academy Charter School.

Description:

The application was reviewed by the appropriate District Departments.  The application did not meet ninety (90%) percent proficiency.

However, in accordance with the provisions, Due Process as required by 1002.33(8)(b), and despite the deficiencies noted in the application of Everglades Preparatory Academy Charter School, Inc., in order to maintain consistency with Florida statutory provisions concerning Due Process, an attached agreement with stipulation between the parties that any irregularities noted within the application shall be cured within a reasonable time as specified by the parties in their written agreement.

Failure to comply will be considered good cause for immediate termination of the Charter Agreement.  The parties shall additionally agree to waive any appeal on issues arising from the failure to cure, within the specified time as agreed.

The Amendment to the Charter Agreement between The School Board of Palm Beach County and Everglades Preparatory Academy Charter School is attached.

A copy of the application and the evaluation points tabulation sheet are on file in the Board Office for your review.

Financial Impact:
Based on the FEFP projection of one hundred forty four (144) students, the school may receive approximately $950,812 in revenues for the first year of the Contract.
