Title: PM8 Lake Worth MS School Project Modifications

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modification for Lake Worth Middle School,  Additions & Remodeling Project #2131-8307 consisting of structural repairs to the existing building exterior in the amount of $269,863.00 due to failing structural attachment of the stucco surfaces as described in Minor Project #2131-9503.

Description:

This project modification contains the following item:

• CCD #1 in the amount of $269,863.00
• Description:  Strip off deteriorating stucco surfaces and replace.
• Cause: School District Requested
• Justification:  Several of the Frizzell Middle Schools have been repaired due to a systematic problem with the stucco attachment to the structures.   Lake Worth Middle School is suffering the same difficulty. This is a Minor project that has been in development and needs to be constructed over the summer to avoid interfering with operation of the school.  The contractor for the Addition project submitted an acceptable bid for the work.  (The District benefits from the contractor already being mobilized on site.)

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project’s Budget is 0.00 as the budget in Minor Project #2131‑9503 will provide funding for this work.
