The new Elementary School 05-C (Western Boca Raton Area) and amend the project budget to $31,803,820.00.  The amendment to the project budget is subject to Board approval of the Five Year Plan in September 2007.

1. The construction of new Elementary School 05-C is scheduled to commence SY 2007-08 and be completed by SY 2009-10 according to the Board-adopted FY 2007-2011 Five-Year Plan.

2. The Educational Specification for Elementary School 05-C is consistent with the Class Size Reduction (CSR) Facility Lists and CSR generic educational specification approved by the Board on October 18, 2006.

3. The “CSR” FISH Capacity of this school design will be 695 for students in grades Kindergarten to 5.  The school will be designed with a core capacity of 960.  The use of the “Program Capacity” for the construction of the school is consistent with the Charter School District Waiver granted by the Florida Board of Education on January 21, 2003. 

4. Elementary School 05-C is planned to provide relief to Sunrise Park and Del Prado Elementary schools and potentially affect a boundary shift at Whispering Pines Elementary. 

5. Considering future students in SY 2011-11 and SY 2011-12 and the new school effect students, the estimated enrollment at Elementary School 05-C in SY 2011-12 is 560 students.

6. The enrollment projection does not include any gifted, ESE, ESOL or Choice programs, which may be proposed at 05-C.

7. The proposed site for Elementary School 05-C is surrounded by vacant land.  It is probable that future homes will be built on all or part of the surrounding land.  Currently there is no proposed development for this area.  This leaves room for potential students from these vacant areas.

8. The Educational Specification reflects the use of grade level grouping to enable implementation of the “school-within-a-school” concepts.
