Title: PM3 Palm Beach Lakes HS Project Modifications

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modifications in the amount of $29,760.00 to MPA Architects for Palm Beach Lakes High School, Auditorium Project #1851-8272, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Description:

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • Additional Architectural Services in the amount of $29,760.00
  • Description: (1) Prepare revision 3 to civil plans to reflect revised chiller building location including grading and parking lot changes; (2) redesign of the air-cooled chiller plant; (3) revisions to chiller enclosure and generator/electrical room.
  • Cause: School District Requested 
  • Justification: Relocate and increase size of chiller yard. This is done in consideration of the future academy building which will be adjacent to the auditorium. Proposed auditorium chiller yard is not large enough for increased size. New location is better suited to serve both buildings. The combining of the chiller systems eliminates the need for an additional chiller plant.

  • There are twenty (20) modular portables and six (6) concretables on campus

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project's Budget is $29,760.00

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
