Title: CP-2 Amend the CM Agreement for Banyan Creek Elementary School Addition

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve an Amendment to the Construction Management at Risk Agreement to establish the Phase 2 Final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for construction in the amount of $9,847,250. to Hedrick Bros. Construction Company, Inc. for Banyan Creek Elementary School Classroom Addition, Project No. 1891-8307 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents. 

Description:

Construction Management @ Risk Services required for Phase 2 Final construction of a 45,052 gross square foot, 500 student station classroom addition at Banyan Creek Elementary School in accordance with permitted design documents and the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on July 19, 2006.

 

Estimated Construction Budget: $10,526,965. (Five Year Capital Plan)

Budgeted Total Construction Cost per Student Station: $21,054.

Total Actual Construction Cost per Student Station: $21,013. (Phase 1 & 2)

Preconstruction Fee:                         $66,160.87

GMP Phase 1 (Site/Utilities):         $592,941.00

GMP Phase 2 (Final):                  $9,847,250.00

Minority Sub-contractor Participation: 17.6  %

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is an increase to the Project Budget of $717,606. and a commitment of $9,920,120. which includes the Phase 2 Final GMP of $9,847,250. and $72,870. for the District provided Builder’s Risk Insurance. Of the above budget, $2,500,000 is available currently, and the remaining $7,420,120 will become available upon adoption of the FY2008-FY2012 5-Year Capital Plan in September and the approval of the 2007E-COPS issue in October 2007.
