Title: CP-5 Amend the CM Agreement for Royal Palm School Replacement

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve an Amendment to the Construction Management at Risk Agreement to establish the Phase 2 Final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for construction in the amount of $30,373,079. to C.R. Klewin Southeast, Inc. for Royal Palm School Replacement, Project No: 1801-8357 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents.

Description:

Construction Management at Risk Services required for Phase 2 Final construction of an approximately 145,000 gross square feet, 564 student station Pre-K through 12 ESE replacement school. The replacement facility will be constructed on the current site followed by demolition of the existing facility and construction of playfields and auxiliary facilities in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on March 16, 2005.  

 

Board Approved Amended Construction Budget: $35,409,743.

Budgeted Total Construction Cost per Student Station: $62,783.

Total Actual Construction Cost per Student Station: $56,099. (Phase 1 & 2)

Building Only Cost per Student Station (Div. 3-16): $37,559. (Phase 1 & 2)

 

Preconstruction Fee:                     $250,740.

GMP Phase 1:                            $1,016,265. (Utility Relocation)

GMP Phase 2: Final                 $30,373,079.

 

Total Actual Cost of Construction:  $31,640,084.

 

Building Only Cost (Div. 3-16):  $21,183,544. (Phase 1 & 2)

 

Minority Sub-consultant Participation: 18.2% 

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is a commitment of $30,600,877. which includes the Phase 2 Final GMP of $30,373,079. and $227,798. for the District provided Builder’s Risk Insurance. The source of funds is the corresponding Capital Project Budget.
