Title: RE-1 Boca Raton High School/Sprint Spectrum-Generator Installation

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the First Amendment to Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement with Sprint Spectrum Realty Company; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

•            On December 18, 1996 the School Board executed a Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement/Gift Agreement/Agreement Respecting Construction and Placement of Telecommunications Facilities for twelve-hundred (1200) square feet of ground space for a Telecommunications tower at Boca Raton High School. (Exhibit “A”)

•            Sprint is requesting to amend the Site Specific Memorandum to allow for the installation of a generator and supporting equipment to the existing tower.

•            The amendment provides for a 40 kilowatt permanent generator.

•            The generators will provide emergency back-up power for the communication equipment.

•            Sprint will be responsible for all permitting, approval and installation of the generator at Sprint’s expense.

•            The generator installation shall be located within the existing leasing area; therefore, no additional rent will be required.
