Title: RE-2 Seacrest Campus (“Old” Atlantic HS)/Sprint Spectrum-Generator Installation

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve the First Amendment to Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement with Sprint Spectrum Realty Company to lease additional ground space at Seacrest Campus (“Old” Atlantic High School); and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.

Description:

•            On June 30, 1997 the School Board executed a Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement/Gift Agreement/Agreement Respecting Construction and Placement of Telecommunications Facilities for eight-hundred (800) square feet of ground space for a Telecommunications tower at Seacrest Campus (“Old” Atlantic High School). (Exhibit “A”)

•            Sprint is requesting to amend the Site Specific Memorandum to lease an additional seventy (70) square feet for the installation of a generator and supporting equipment to the existing tower.

•            The amendment provides for a 40 kilowatt permanent generator.

•            The generators will provide emergency back-up power for the communication equipment.

•            Sprint will be responsible for all permitting, approval and installation of the generator at Sprint’s expense.

•            Sprint will pay in advance an additional $2,400.00 annually through 2012.

Financial Impact:

There will be a positive Financial Impact of $2,400 per year.
