Title: RE-3 Calusa Elementary/Sprint Spectrum-Generator Installation Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board approve the First Amendment to Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement with Sprint Spectrum Realty Company to lease additional ground space at Calusa Elementary; and authorize the Superintendent and Chairman to sign all necessary documents.
Description: On July 31, 1996 the School Board executed a Site Specific Memorandum to Master Lease Agreement/Gift Agreement/Agreement Respecting Construction and Placement of Telecommunications Facilities for four-hundred (400) square feet of ground space for a Telecommunications tower at Calusa Elementary. (Exhibit A)
Sprint is requesting to amend the Site Specific Memorandum to lease an additional one-hundred (100) square feet for the installation of a generator to the existing tower.
The Amendment provides for a 40 kilowatt permanent generator.
The generators will provide emergency back-up power for the communication equipment.
Sprint will be responsible for all permitting, approval and installation of the generator at Sprints expense.
Sprint will pay in advance an additional $2,400.00 annually through 2012.
Financial Impact:
There will be a positive Financial Impact of $2,400 per year.
