Title: AC5-Amendment 1 to the Head Start Delegate Agency Agreement

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Amendment to the Agreement between the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and the School Board for the Head Start Program at the Delray Full Service Center to  increase the dollar amount from $1, 075,528 to $1,091,661 for the contract year effective October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents related to the Agreement which are required for implementation of the Agreement activities.

Description:

This is an amendment to the October 1, 2006 Agreement which ends September 30, 2007, between the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and the School Board for the Head Start Program at Delray Full Service Center.

The amendment to the Agreement is to increase the dollar amount by $16,133 (for the period of October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007) to reflect the 2007 Department of Health and Human Services Cost of Living Adjustment.  This adjustment impacts 27 employees.

The existing Exhibit "B" Schedule of Payment and Budget Data is deleted in its entirety and Exhibit "B1" attached hereto, is substituted in its stead.

Article 3 reads One Million, Seventy Five Thousand, Five Hundred Twenty-Eight dollars ($1,075,528) and is amended to read One Million, Ninety One Thousand, Six Hundred Sixty One dollars ($1,091,661) in accordance with the budget set forth herein as Exhibit (B1) hereof.

Financial Impact:
The financial impact to the Special Revenue Funds-Other Funds Budget is an increase of $16,133 (from $1,075,528 to $1,091,661).  The funds will be appropriated to the Delray Full Service Center Budget.  All of the expenditures and contracts are authorized for payment up to the amount of the revenue.
