Title: CS1-Fourth Amendment to Charter Agreement for Western Academy

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Fourth Amendment to the Charter Agreement for Western Academy Charter School.

Description:

The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida ("School Board") and Western Academy Charter School ("Western"), entered into a contract on March 31, 2003.

On June 14, 2007 the School Board received written correspondence from the Governing Board of Western requesting changes to Sections 12.0(A) and 14.0(A), (B), (C), and (D).  (See attached Exhibit A.)

Legal and staff reviewed and amended the requested changes to align with statute.  The Amendment to the Charter Agreement between The School Board of Palm Beach County and Western Academy is attached.

A copy of the Western Academy Contract is on file in the Board Office for your review.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the District.
