Title: CS2-Second Amendment to Charter Agreement for Delray Youth Vocational Charter School

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Second Amendment to extend Delray Youth Vocational's current contract to September 28, 2007.

Description:

Delray Youth Vocational's Charter Agreement ends June 30, 2007.  The renewal application was approved by the School Board on May 16, 2007.

Contract negotiations have commenced and Delray Youth is requesting a GED graduation option that needs to be closely reviewed by the Charter and the Educational Alternative Departments' staff.  For this reason, we need an extension to effectively secure a mutually beneficial and legally binding contract.

On July 18, 2007, the School Board approved an Amendment to extend the current "Contract" until August 14, 2007 (see Exhibit "A").

The Governing Board has signed a Second Amendment to extend the current "Contract" until September 28, 2007.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the District.
