Title: P3 Cooperative Agreement with Urban League

Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board approve the Cooperative Agreement with the Urban League of Palm Beach County, Inc., and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all necessary documents

Description:

P3  Approve the Cooperative Agreement with the Urban League of Palm Beach County, Inc., for the Weekday Warriors Program.

·      The Urban League desires to continue the services of the Weekday Warriors Program to increase academic achievement. 

·      The Weekday Warriors Program is a tutorial service to increase student performance on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) in Palm Beach County.  The program will operate Monday through Thursday throughout the school year.    

·      Although the program will be promoted through churches in the community, it will be non-sectarian and open to all public school students in grades 3-5.  Any District funds allocated under this agreement will be used by non-sectarian purposes only and will be kept separate and apart from any church related activities.

·      The term of this contract is October 19, 2005 through October 19, 2006. 

Financial Impact:
The additional financial impact to the General Fund Budget is estimated at $46,323.  The source of funds is the Quality Assurance budget.
