Title: Cooperative Agreements with 15 Agencies

4    Cooperative Agreements are attached for the following 15 agencies: Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), Aspira, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Camelot Community Care, Inc., Catholic Charities, Inc., Center for Family Services, Center for Group Counseling, Inc., Children’s Case Management Organization, Inc., The Chrysalis Center, Drug Abuse Treatment Association (DATA), The Children’s Home Society, Inc., Community Intervention and Resource Center (CIRC), Hanley-Hazelden Center, Healthy Solutions/Healthy Babies, Healthy Solutions Resource Center, Hearts and Hope, Hospice of Palm Beach County, Multilingual Psychotherapy Center, Inc., Oakwood Center of the Palm Beaches, Palm Beach County Youth Services Bureau, Ruth Rales Jewish Family Services, Inc., Take Stock in Children of Palm Beach County, and the Urban League of Palm Beach County. 

 

4    These providers are only permitted to work with students on school campuses if they are addressing emotional or social barriers that may interfere with students’ academic achievement. The providers must meet specific background check requirements and program implementation guidelines.

 

4     The Cooperative Agreements outline:

o        Program purpose;

o       Background check and insurance requirements;

o        Protocols for the agency representatives to follow at the schools;

o       Documentation, confidentiality, and follow up requirements;

o       Collaboration with the school based team at the school site; and access to student information.

Recommendation:

I recommend that the School Board approve the Cooperative Agreements with Community Agencies to provide behavioral health services for children and their families in schools, effective December 9, 2004 through June 30, 2005, and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all documents related to these Agreements which are required for service provision.

Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the district.
