Title: Description: -This is an Interlocal Agreement among the School Board of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County and the City of Greenacres for necessary right of way and infrastructure improvements to Lake Worth Road and Southview Road to provide for safe and efficient flow of traffic to and from new middle school 03-KK. -At the August 18, 2004 School Board Meeting, the Board approved an Interlocal Agreement allocating the cost of certain roadway and traffic improvements. Prior to this Agreement being approved by the County and the City of Greenacres, new issues arose with the cost allocation for drainage improvements, so a new cost allocation table was negotiated. The County and the School District will now share the drainage improvement costs -The School Board's approval of this item will void their approval of the original Agreement on August 18, 2004 (Item 12A1). -The School Board, Palm Beach County, the City of Greenacres and the Florida Department of Transportation have reviewed and agreed upon the right-of-way improvements necessary to provide the safest and most efficient flow of traffic adjacent to 03-KK Middle School. -The School Board proposes to design and construct the proposed right-of-way and infrastructure improvements necessary to accommodate the safe and efficient flow of traffic to and from the new 03-KK Middle School. -The County and the City have both agreed to contribute their fair share of the costs of the infrastructure improvements proposed for Southview Road and Lake Worth Road. -The right-of-way improvements to Lake Worth Road and Southview Road adjacent to 03-KK Middle School, including all associated infrastructure, are estimated at $790,104.00. This cost remains the same as originally approved. -The School Board's fair share is estimated at $205,013.50, which is $65,000 higher due to the fact that half of the drainage improvements cost will not be paid by the City since they will not be primarily benefitting from it. The City is still paying its fair share. The County and the School District will now share the drainage cost. -The City of Greenacres fair share is estimated at $219,205.50. -Palm Beach County's fair share is estimated at $365,885.00. -03-KK Middle School is scheduled to open in August 2005. Recommendation: I recommend the School Board approve the Interlocal Agreement among Palm Beach County, the City of Greenacres and the School Board of Palm Beach County for necessary right-of-way and infrastructure improvements to Lake Worth Road and Southview Road to provide for the safe and efficient flow of traffic to and from new Middle School 03-KK and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chair to sign all related documents.
