Title: Project Modifications for Forest Hill Community High

This project modification contains the following item:

CCD 4 for a non-compensable eighteen (18) consecutive calendar day time extension.

• Description: Extend the Phase II and Phase III construction schedule by an additional 18 days.  Revise the Substantial Completion date for Phase II and Phase III from December 1, 2004 to December 19, 2004.
• Cause:  Unforeseen Condition
• Justification:  During the month of September 2004, the District was subject to two hurricanes.  Hurricane Frances made landfall September 4, 2004, and Hurricane Jeanne struck September 26, 2004.  CM has provided documentation to support a fourteen (14) day delay due to Hurricane Frances and a four (4) day delay due to Hurricane Jeanne.  The lack of production is attributed to the loss of electrical power and manpower resulting from the hurricanes.  Total requested extension due to the hurricanes is eighteen (18) calendar days.    

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications for the addition of eighteen (18) consecutive calendar days for Forest Hill Community High School, Modernization Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

The financial impact to the Project’s Budget is $0.00.
