Title: (GG) - Project Modifications for Exterior Painting Contract

Description:

This project modification contains the following item:

CCD #2 for a non-compensable forty-one (41) consecutive calendar day time extension.

Description:  Extend the exterior painting contract schedule by an additional 41 days to complete the project no later than January 10, 2005.

Cause:  Unforeseen Condition

Justification:  This contract was awarded to paint the exterior of fourteen (14) schools and apply an epoxy coating to the courtyard sidewalk at Santaluces High School.  Exterior painting at the fourteen (14) schools is complete, however, weather conditions (frequent rain and high humidity) during the summer prohibited proper curing of the sidewalk coating before the return of students and it was decided to delay the coating application until the winter break.  Total requested extension due to weather conditions and the nature and scope of the project is forty-one (41) calendar days.

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board ratify the Project Modification for the addition of forty-one (41) consecutive calendar days for the exterior painting contract awarded June 23, 2004, to Sun Art Painting Corporation and adjust appropriate contract documents.

The financial impact to the project's budget is $0.00.
