Title: (H) - PBC Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Agreement Description:
- Chapter 23, Florida Statutes, provides that law enforcement agencies may enter into Mutual Aid Agreements that provide guidelines for obtaining assistance with problems that cross jurisdictional lines. The attached Mutual Aid Agreement is for all law enforcement agencies in Palm Beach County and an integral aid in our effort to maintain public peace and safety on our campuses and at School District activities.
- The School Board entered into similar Mutual Aid Agreements on December 1, 1993, on May 7, 1997, and on January 31, 2001. Chapter 23 requires said agreements to sunset. Therefore, this new Agreement will sunset on January 31, 2009.
- This Agreement has been reviewed and is supported by the Palm Beach County Police Chiefs through the Palm Beach County Law Enforcement Planning Council.
Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board consider approval of the Agreement between all Palm Beach County Law Enforcement Agencies.
Financial Impact:
There is no financial impact to the School District.
