Calusa ES HVAC Replacement Project No. 1911-8222
This project modification contains the following items:
Item #1
§ CCD #3R in the amount of $4,502.00.
§ Description: Provide additional temporary air conditioning.
§ Cause: Design Omission
§ Justification: The engineering estimate for temporary air conditioning capacity (Tons) was not adequate for cooling the main office during the construction. One additional month of temporary air conditioning was required.
Item #2
§ CCD #20R in the amount of $7,025.00
§ Description: Install four additional heat detectors, Rooms 212, 207,106, and 110.
§ Cause: School District Requested.
§ Justification: Requested by the Building Department inspector upon final review of the facility.
Item #3
§ CCD #21M in the amount of $1,301.00.
§ Description: Install a double layer of drywall at roof truss and rated wall.
§ Cause: Unforeseen Condition.
§ Justification: The roof truss was placed directly over a wall that required a 4-hour fire rating. The concrete wall encased the roof truss and therefore did not comply with the 4 hour fire rating criteria. The engineered solution was the installation of drywall on either side of the wall.
Item #4
§ CCD #22 in the amount of $12,805.00.
§ Description: Correct above ceiling electrical code violations and firewall penetrations.
§ Cause: School District Requested.
§ Justification: Corrections required prior to acoustical ceiling installation and Building Department inspections and approvals.
Item #5
§ CCD #23 in the amount of $2,133.00
§ Description: Remove and replace PVC roof vent line and 3” copper water main. Drain, re-fill and bleed water system.
§ Cause: Unforeseen Condition.
§ Justification: Existing vent stack was located too close to the make up air intake. The 3” copper main conflicted with the installation of ductwork.
Item #6
§ Description: On Calusa Elementary School, the Contractor, Hill York Services, achieved Substantial Completion on January 26, 2004, and requested a Reduction of Retainage from 5% to 1%; the Architect and District staff recommends this reduction.
