1. The modernization of Barton Elementary (Project No. 0741-7501) is scheduled to commence 2006 and be completed by 2007 according to the Board-adopted FY 2005 - FY 2009 Five-Year Plan.
2. The educational specification for the modernization of Barton Elementary is consistent with the CSR facility lists and CSR Generic Educational Specifications approved by the Board on November 8, 2004.
3. The “CSR FISH Capacity” of this school design will be 991 and the “Program Capacity” of this school design will be 764 students. Use of "Program Capacity" for the design and construction of schools is consistent with the Charter School District Waiver granted by the Florida Board of Education on January 21, 2003.
4. The educational specification also reflects the instructional needs of the existing ESE and ESOL programs serving the students of the school. The educational specification consists of three (3) additional ESE Resource Rooms.
5. The Castaldi analysis identifies four (4) buildings (Bldgs 13-15 & 20) that may be renovated or remodeled. The existing facilities will be analyzed by the project architect to determine appropriate usage of the site and buildings for necessary renovations, remodeling and/or additions to meet SREF size standards, ADA requirements and other code issues.
6. The Educational Specification reflects the use of grade level grouping to enable implementation of the “school-within-a-school” concept.
7. The educational specification was reviewed and approved by the principal.
