Title: (W) - Project Modifications for Omni Middle School

Item #1

§         CCD #1 in the amount of $2,386.00

§        Description:  Upgrade electrical code violations, Building G.

§         Cause: Unforeseen Condition

§        Justification:  During the HVAC modifications electrical code violations were discovered. 

 

Item #2

§         CCD #5 in the amount of $1,393.00.

§        Description:  Remove non-compliant partition wall and install new door in the main office.      

§         Cause: School District Requested.

§         Justification: Removal of the wall and installation of the door returns the office to the workflow design.

 

Item #3

§         CCD #6 in the amount of $ 5,607.00.

§         Description:  Remove and replace an additional 20 cubic yards of courtyard sidewalks to provide a uniform repair and appearance.      

§         Cause: School District Requested.

§         Justification:  The original design provided only for the removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks necessary to install a chilled water loop.  During construction it was determined that this method would result in multiple cuts and concrete patches in the courtyard sidewalks. The potential end result was visually unacceptable.                              

 

Item #4

§         CCD #7 in the amount of $ 9,771.00.

§         Description:  Install additional expansion loops in the chilled water system.      

§         Cause: Design Omission

Justification:  The actual installation length of the chilled water pipe exceeded the District Design Criteria of 175 feet.  Upon inspection, the District requested the installation of an additional expansion loop in each main loop.

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board ratify Project Modifications in the amount of $19,157.00 for Omni Middle School, HVAC Replacement Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project’s Budget is $19,157.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
