Title: (X) - Project Modifications- West Boynton Area ES (03-V)

Description:

West Boynton Beach Area ES (03-V) Project No. 0011-8334

 

This project modification contains the following item:

 

  • COPR #1 in the amount of  $128,576.00.
  • Description: Palm Beach County Department of Water Utilities is requiring the District to install 1500 lineal feet of 4” sewer force main from our property line to their prescribed connection point to facilitate our newly installed lift station.
  • Cause: Outside Agency.
  • Justification: The line will connect the newly installed lift station to a county sewage line identified by the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department after the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) was accepted.  The proposed alternative tie-in location would have resulted in substantial and more expensive changes on the County's side, and the School District would have been charged for those costs.  This is the lowest cost alternative.

Recommendation:

I recommend the School Board approve Project Modification in the amount of $128,576.00 for West Boynton Area Elementary School (03-V), Construction Management at Risk Project, and authorize the Chairman and Superintendent to execute all related contract documents.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact to the Project’s Budget is $128,576.00.

 

The source of funds is the project budget as approved by the Board at the time of the Construction Contract Award.
