Parent Services
FDLRS and the Exceptional Student Education Department
(ESE) continue hosting monthly Parent University. These
free events are offerred on Saturdays for families of students
with disabilities attending the School District of Palm Beach
County. Parents have the opportunity to learn strategies they can take home and apply with their children. The
training format is parent friendly and a variety of topics are offered such as: Navigating the School District’s
ESE Website Including the SIS Gateway, Secondary Transition and Deferment, Technology and Your Child,
Special Needs Financial Planning, Understanding the IEP, Behavior Strategies, and Organizational Binder and
Effective Ways to Communicate with your Child’s School.
Parents can learn more about FDLRS/ESE Parent Services and register for monthly Parent University at
www.FDLRSAlpha.org. We encourage all parents to be attentive to RoboCall reminders and Parent Univesity
flyers going home from your child’s school for these events. We also welcome parents and teachers to contact
FDLRS/ESE Parent Services: Lissette Martinez-Morales at (561) 434-8377 at the District Office’s Exceptional
Student Education Department or at Lissette.martinez@palmbeachschools.org in order to discuss any concerns
or answer any questions regarding an ESE student. Mary Black, our Parent as Liaison (PAL) is available at
