MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Parents and Guardians,
The School District of Palm Beach County is proud to offer more than 330
Choice and Career programs for students in grades PK-12. These programs
offer students a variety of options from which they may select areas of study
that most interest them, while still learning the State's core curriculum.

Choice and Career programs provide enriching, comprehensive academic
instruction by qualified instructors who are certified in specific fields
that engage students while preparing them for college and careers
and overall post-graduate success. Our programs are also taught as a
way of meeting projected workforce needs, both locally and globally.
This year's theme is "Where Tomorrow Starts Today." We encourage parents to explore the variety of program
options available that will provide your child with the tools they need to reach their goals while ensuring the
District's Mission of educating, affirming, and inspiring each student in an equity -embedded school system.

Families are invited to explore the variety of program options such as Cybersecurity, Medical Sciences,
Information Technology, the Performing Arts, International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Math education (STEM), and more. Students can take advantage of
the exciting coursework that will introduce them to new skills while strengthening existing abilities.

We are excited to announce there will be two new schools opening next fall, a middle school west of
Boynton Beach and a high school in Lake Worth. Each will add to our offerings of Choice programs.

I am also excited to announce that our District will be launching a new and improved Choice Application
Platform in November that will provide families with a more efficient way to manage all student
choice opportunities. More information about the new platform will be shared prior to its launch.

In the meantime, I ask that you review the Choice booklet. It is your guide to the array of Choice and Career program
offerings available in the School District of Palm Beach County for the 2023-2024 school year. Included in the
booklet is also information on important dates and a reference tool for the new application management process.
