Welcome Message
On behalf of the School District of Palm Beach
County’s Office of Diversity in Business Practices
(ODBP), welcome to the Vendor eBook: A Reference
Guide to District-certified Small Businesses. The
30.2 million small businesses in the United States
create two-thirds of all private sector jobs and
employ 58.9 million people, which makes up 47.5%
of the country’s total employee workforce. Small
businesses are the economic engines that run
America’s economy. The School District understands
that it is to our collective benefit to help strengthen
and grow the small businesses in our community.
These businesses hire local workers and students,
and contribute to the tax base and vibrant
ecosystem of Palm Beach County. We consistently
carry out our mission to provide all persons a fair
and equal opportunity to participate in procurement
and contracting opportunities, sponsored by the
District. Creating sustainable businesses within
our community takes collaboration and a strategic
approach.
The ODBP offers a variety of ways to connect,
engage, train, and support the District’s 500+
MEET THE TEAM certified small businesses. This eBook is part of
our strategic approach to help you get to know who
they are and what services they provide. We started

District administrative assistants and bookkeepers.
