Message from the Director
Message from Allison Monbleau, Director School Food Service
Welcome Back to School!
The School Food Service Theme this year was “SFS Stepping Into the Future.” We wanted an emphasis on the
fact that, although we wanted some things to return to “normal”, we also recognized that not all would return to
pre-COVID operations and processes. We needed to step into the future with new ideas and strategies.
The School Food Service team persevered and excelled this year through continued COVID-19 challenges,
staffing shortages, and supply chain shortages. By being creative and dedicated to our cause of keeping Kids
First and providing nutritious meals to our students, School Food Service staff fed over 34 million meals and
snacks.
I thank our school based staff members who worked every day to ensure our students had nutritious breakfasts,
lunches, suppers, and snacks available to them and I thank our central office staff who not only ensured their
responsibilities were met, but also assisted in schools to feed our kids. It is when times are the most challenging
when the strength of the team is seen. Thank you to all School Food Service staff for coming together, for
supporting each other, and for ensuring our program succeeded in its purpose to “Provide Nutritious Meals and
Promote Healthful Living.”
The pages of this annual report highlight the many accomplishments of the School Food Service team this year.
Thank you to all.
