to enable teachers to provide help, examining student performance on state measures of

Presently, the district provides virtual coursework for credit recovery in secondary schools.
Online credit recovery programs offer academic credit support toward receiving a high school
diploma. The focus is to help students stay in school and graduate on time. Many high schools
also offer a blended learning model for original credit courses. The blended approach
incorporates the best features of online coursework and face-to-face educational support.
Palm Beach Virtual School offers various options for full-time enrollment at the K-5, 6-8, and
9-12 grade levels. Our current course offerings are through Florida Virtual School, Edgenuity,
K12 Stride, and our own district created courses offered on a contracted learning management
system.
Palm Beach Virtual School staff works with both the Educational Technology (ET) and
Information Technology (IT) departments to ensure online programs meet academic, equity,
access, and data security requirements. Virtual School works closely with IT, embracing the use
of district resources. The staff uses, teaches, and shares district initiatives with all stakeholders:
students, parents, school counselors, and administrators. Consistently using, improving, and
increasing the use of technology enhances learning, teaching, and productivity.
