Note: If you cannot properly tie down a particular style of wheelchair, consult with your supervisor
                  and/or the student’s school physical therapist. The bus should never be placed in motion if the
                                     wheelchair is not completely and properly tied down.

               Daily Checklist: Wheelchairs


               Loading and Unloading the Wheelchair on the Lift

                     Have the student and caretaker been greeted?
                     Is the student’s wheelchair positioning belt fastened?
                     Is the wheelchair positioned on the lift facing out?
                     Are the brakes locked?
                     Are the gears engaged on the motorized wheelchair?
                     Is the power switched off on the motorized wheelchair?
                     Is/are the attendant’s hand or caretaker’s hands on the wheelchair during lift operation?

               Positioning the Wheelchair on the Bus

                     Is the wheelchair placed forward facing?
