Title: CP-5 Amend CM Agreement for Glades Central High Academy

Recommendation:
I recommend the School Board revise the project budget to $9,577,320 and approve an Amendment to the Construction Management at Risk Agreement to establish the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for construction in the amount of $7,173,596. to W.G. Mills, Inc., for Glades Central High  Academy Project No. 2301-8316 and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to sign all required documents.

Description:

Construction Management at Risk services required for facility modifications and academic program changes for Glades Central High School. Construction of a new classroom building to accommodate the additional programs. Construction will be in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on March 16, 2005.   

Estimated Construction Budget: $4,261,031

Gross Square Feet: 32,859

Budgeted Construction Cost per Gross Square Foot: $130.

Total Construction Cost per Gross Square Foot: $220.

Building Cost per Gross Square Foot (Div 3-16): $192.

Student Stations: 164

Budgeted Construction Cost per Student Station: $25,982

Total Construction Cost per Student Station: $44,021.

Building Cost per Student Station (Div. 3-16): $38,429.

Preconstruction Fee:                     $45,855.

GMP:                                       $7,173,596.

Total Cost of Construction:     $7,219,451.

Building Cost (Div. 3-16):      $6,302,444.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact is an increase to the Project Budget of $4,077,320 and a commitment of $7,226,681. which includes the GMP of $7,173,596 and $53,085. for the District provided Builder’s Risk Insurance. The source of funds is the Capital Project Budget and Capital Contingency.
