District reopening plans
Introduction & Background
The School District of Palm Beach County welcomes you to the
2020-2021 school year! The Florida Department of Education approved
the District’s Innovative Reopening Plan which began with a distance
learning mode of instruction. Once Palm Beach County moved from
Phase One to Phase Two of reopening, families were given the option to
have students return to school campuses on September 21st or
continuing with distance learning. Our Innovative Reopening Plan
focuses on a modified distance learning plan, healthier classrooms,
buildings, and buses, as well as other back to school risk reduction
strategies. These include:
MODIFIED CLASSROOMS: Safe practices in classrooms & schools
MODIFIED BUILDINGS: Healthy and safe school environments
MODIFIED POLICIES: Responsibilities of Students and Families
MODIFIED WELLNESS CHECKS: A culture of health, safety, and shared
responsibility
MODIFIED BUSES: Transporting students safely
