Students learn in a specialized marine science lab featuring multiple saltwater aquariums, touch tanks, fish, sharks, anemones, and other marine organisms. Through engaging, standards-aligned lessons, students investigate topics such as adaptations, food chains, ecosystems, invasive species, conservation, and environmental stewardship. The program encourages curiosity, collaboration, problem-solving, and real-world scientific thinking while building a strong foundation for future science learning. Our goal is to inspire students to become thoughtful scientists and responsible stewards of the environment while developing a lifelong appreciation for marine life and the natural world.Math, Science, and TechnologyThe Math, Science, and Technology Program uses innovative strategies to motivate the inquisitive child. The students utilize science, math, and technology laboratories, as well as other unique interactive learning environments in their daily work. Students make mathematical and physical discoveries using models they can touch and manipulate in real life experiences. Using an integrated approach to curriculum with science and mathematics as a basis for instruction, students will learn problem solving and logical thinking through the principles studied in the classroom.Montessori The Montessori philosophy proposes that every child is born with the strong desire to learn. The program uses a unique method of education that emphasizes the development of the whole child. The Montessori classroom stresses active learning with attractive, academically sequential materials that allow children to develop at their own pace. This prepared environment offers a non%u2013competitive, cooperative learning atmosphere in multi%u2013age classrooms or looping models. Students receive a solid foundation in the basic subjects through high%u2013quality, stimulating teaching strategies focused on creative thinking and community%u2013minded problem solving.Multimedia and Television ProductionStudents will learn the fundamentals of basic television production, researching skills, video recording, scripting, lighting, and equipment set up. Students will also demonstrate an understanding of video editing skills and control room operations. The content and skills learned will contribute to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problemsolving skills, work attitudes, technical skills, and knowledge of the Arts, A/V Technology, and Communication paths.Orchestral StringsThe purpose of the Orchestral Strings Program is to provide instruction in the development of beginning through advanced level skills in a classroom and ensemble setting through the performance and refinement of a variety of orchestral literature. The arts are infused throughout the academic curriculum. Extra rehearsal and performance time may be required beyond the school day. Students will perform at various community events.Available School OptionsChoice%u00b7 Limestone Creek ElementaryIn%u2013House: None AvailableAvailable School OptionsChoice%u00b7 Roosevelt ElementaryIn%u2013House: None availableAvailable School OptionsChoice%u00b7 Northboro Elementary(Pre%u2013K3, Pre%u2013K4, K%u20135)%u00b7 S.D.
