Offered at elementary, middle, and high schools district-wide, these specialized, theme-based pathways combine rigorous academics with hands-on experience to ignite a lifelong passion for learning. Students can dive deep into targeted fields of study%u2014including Artificial Intelligence, STEM, STEAM, Medical Sciences, Cybersecurity, Performing Arts, International Baccalaureate (IB), Computer Science, Engineering, Culinary Arts, Construction, Law, Fire Science, and Entrepreneurship%u2014preparing them for success both in the classroom and beyond.Career Academies: Planning for Success Planning for Success Career Academies offer students a unique advantage, providing a direct pathway to high-skill careers by connecting classroom learning with real-world experience. Choosing the right academy is an important step in your student's journey, and we have excellent resources to help guide your decision. These tools are invaluable for helping students discover educational pathways that align with their natural talents and passions.%u00b7 Your School Counselor: Your student's school counselor is an essential partner in this process. Email us at choice@palmbeachschools.org.Understanding Your Program OptionsTo make the best decision for your family, it's important to know the two main types of programs available: In-House and Choice.In-House Programs: For Zoned StudentsPrograms designated as \who live within that school's attendance boundaries. We highly encourage zoned students to apply for these programs offered at their zoned school, as it provides a higher priority for acceptance during the selection lottery. Additionally, applying for a unique Choice program that is offered at your own home school provides access to a specialized curriculum right in your neighborhood. However, continued enrollment depends on residency; if a student moves out of the school's zone, they can no longer participate in the In-House program.Choice Programs: Open to All Students\and outside of Palm Beach County. Choice programs give every student access to a wider range of educational opportunities. This allows students the opportunity to attend a different school to enroll in a specialized program that is not available at their zoned school or district.Full Choice Schools: For EveryoneFull Choice Schools do not have traditional attendance boundaries, making them open to all interested district families. Because there are no geographic restrictions, every enrolled student is admitted through the central Choice application and lottery selection process. All grade appropriate applicants may apply to the following full Choice schools: Morikami Park Elementary School, Northboro Elementary School, Poinciana Elementary School, S.D. Spady Elementary School, Bak Middle School of the Arts, Don Estridge High Tech Middle School, A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Suncoast High School, and Village Academy.All grade appropriate applicants may also apply to the 6-8 Choice programs offered at the following K-8 schools: Addison Mizner School, Dwight D.
