Penny Butler-Schillinger
IT Technical Operations
Service Desk Manager

Dr. Penny Butler-Schillinger’s first day as the new IT Service Desk Manager
was January 22, 2024. In her new role, Penny will oversee the Service Desk,
Field Support Team, Device Repair Lab, and Audio/Visual Team. Before joining
the District, Penny was a Technology Strategist for the City of Fort Lauderdale
and spent 30 years with Florida International University (FIU), most recently
as Assistant IT Director. Penny holds a Doctorate in Education from Nova
Southeastern University and several technology-related certifications. When
not working, Penny enjoys musical theater classes and performances. We are
very excited to have Penny join the IT Division Team.

Jorge Chavez
IT Technical Operations
Senior Technical Analyst

Jorge Chavez started with the District in October 2023. He is on the Device
Repair Team. Before joining the District full-time, he was a temp in IT and
worked for the City of West Palm Beach. When not working, Jorge enjoys road
trips with his family. Jorge has been a great addition to our IT Team.

Matthew Knez
IT Technical Operations
Senior Technical Analyst

Matthew Knez started in Technical Operations’ Field Support Team in November
2023. Before that, he was an ITSA at Binks Forest Elementary and earned his
Bachelor’s degree in IT from FAU. When not working, Matt enjoys building
custom gaming PCs and disc golfing on the weekends. We are very lucky to
have Matt as a member of our team.
