Hands Only CPR Can Save Lives!
During FY22, the Physical Education Department taught Hands Only CPR to all students enrolled in a high
school biology class. Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, at work or in a public location,
die because they do not receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. As a bystander, do not be
afraid. Your actions can only help. When calling 911, the 911-operator will ask for your location. Be specific,
especially if you are calling from a mobile phone that is not associated with a fixed address. Answering the
dispatcher’s questions will not delay the arrival of help.
As a requirement in The School District Palm Beach County since FY18, we have seen an increase in training in
        this life-saving skills.
