This is all a part of our “We’re ALL In!” Campaign. Through this
campaign we support inclusive policies on discrimination (Protecting
Students from Harassment and Discrimination Policy 5.001 and the
Bullying and Harassment Policy 5.002), Our District Diversity and
Equity Committee (Policy 1.0971) and our Equity Policy (1.041). The
District also supports inclusive curriculum such as the Human Growth
and Development curriculum and instructional materials, such as
our diversity libraries in Elementary, Middle and High School Media
Centers. Finally, supportive staff can be identified in various ways.
We offer posters and stickers that a school may display. We have also
Human Growth and Development designed a badge, which all staff can wear with their name badge that
identifies them as a supportive, caring adult for LGBTQ+ students.
Human Growth and Development was taught in grades
K to 12th as per Florida State Statute 1003.42(2)(n) and
the District’s Wellness Promotion Policy. Human Growth
and Development is the final unit of all Science classes
in grades K to 12th. The following amount of units were
taught in Human Growth and Development in FY19.
In addition, 81 teachers received face-to-face Professional
Development and 125 took online Professional
Development trainings in FY19.
