 Florida Tobacco Prevention
 The Florida Tobacco Prevention Training for Educators, an Online Professional Development for K-12 Educators
 offers:
 •  A 30-point
 •  A 60-point
 •  A 10-point in Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) for Palm Beach County educators.
 •  Also new for school year 2018-2019, offered only to school nurses is a 20 CEU course (identical to our
 30-point teacher course).
 These courses use current facts and data to give educators the tools needed to become experts in the field of
 tobacco prevention.
 Implementation requirements:
 •  30 and 60 point courses require six tobacco prevention lessons.
 •  The 10-point course requires one prevention lesson on ENDS.
 •  No implementation requirements for the nurse’s course, however they will receive the latest information
 on all aspects of tobacco prevention, including ENDS by successfully completing the course.
 The 30-point, 60-point and 20 CEU Nurse’s courses are also offered statewide through a grant from the
 Department of Education.

 Since 2011, these courses have delivered tobacco prevention training to:  Districts in colors are leading our students in making
 •  Over 50,000 educators statewide.   healthy decisions concearning the use of tobacco.
 •  Provided over 600,000 lessons.  We applaud them!!!
 •  Taught more than 100,000 students statewide.
 •  Palm Beach County teachers have affected the most number of students.
 ¾   In the last eight years - over 1,000 District teachers completed the course.
 ¾   Tobacco prevention lessons were taught to more than 55,000 students in the District.
 ¾   Over 400,000 prevention lessons delivered.


 Now with the explosion of ENDS products in schools, ENDS courses will bring teachers the latest in the
 electronic nicotine delivery systems, giving them the most up-to-date information on the hazards and
 chemicals they deliver to the body through inhalation, as well as the specific devices in the schools today.
