Health Services (FY20)
In FY20, Health Services continued to offer a variety of health trainings in which staff members were trained
under the guidance and training of licensed health professionals. Health Services also provided nursing
services coordinated by our school health partners. These valuable relationships with partners allowed a
great number of students receiving care to return to the classroom during the FY20 school year.
In addition, Health Services continued to offered a variety of health trainings in which staff members were
trained prior to COVID-19 under the guidance and training of licensed health professionals.
Due to COVID-19, The School District of Palm Beach County established a Superintendent’s Health Advisory
Committee (HAC), which maintained frequent contact with federal, state, and local government and public
health agencies for the most current information, including the latest guidelines and recommendations issued
for K-12 schools. HAC consisted of medical professionals and District personnel who engage in daily planning
and discussion to share important updates, review the District’s pandemic protocols, and provide guidance
and communication to Superintendent Donald E. Fennoy II. In FY20, HAC met only on time on June 8, 2020.
The Health Advisory Committee will continue to advise the Superintendent throughout the FY21 school year,
to ensure that appropriate decisions are made with available data.
