SITV POWER
REDUNDANCY
A new Data Center is operational at South ITV. It provides the District a
redundant site for critical applications and enterprise systems should
systems at Fulton-Holland Educational Service Center (FHESC) fail. The Data
Center is designed with backup power sources. Each component in the SITV
Data Center has connections to a backup generator and two universal power
supply (UPS) battery backups.
For further insurance that our data systems can operate continuously,
in Summer 2021, a second generator will be added providing power
redundancy to the FPL grid. These improvements ensure IT is prepared for
unforeseen electrical or technical issues, and they give staff the flexibility to
disconnect either side for maintenance.
