Mental Health and Wellness
Objective 1: Enhance a sense of belonging, safety, and
acceptance for all students.
Facility-Based Security Upgrades
Maintenance and Plant Operations (MPO) assisted School Police and Information
Technology with the Centegix passive alarm system installation by connecting all 187
schools’ intercoms to the Centegix systems before the opening of the school year in
August 2022. MPO also coordinated with all 187 schools and the vendor to order and
install drop-down shades on classroom doors for code red lockdowns. MPO created an
essential management training program for all schools to help them manage their keys
and ensure that all classroom doors function properly per School Board Policy 2.3817.
Facilities Construction has continued to install single point-of-entry security features
at over 50 schools throughout the District, including walls, doors, access control
devices, digital surveillance cameras, fences, gates, and video intercoms. Additionally,
two elementary schools and six middle schools with pod buildings received security
upgrades to ensure compliance with School Board Policy 2.3817.
