The Department of Virtual & Home Educational Services promotes
academic excellence and growth by implementing innovative and differen-
tiated learning approaches through virtual education, hospital homebound
education, and home education beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar
2 environment.
Palm Beach Virtual School is a K-12 option in Palm Beach County. It offers
both full-time and part-time choices. All full-time students follow a flexible
schedule where students access learning materials and complete assignments at their own pace and schedule.

Hospital Homebound is a temporary intervention service. The primary goal is to minimize instructional gaps

by providing access to the curriculum while the student is medically confined and to help them re-enter a
traditional setting.
Home Education is a parent-directed educational option. Parents determine their child’s academic path and
plan for achieving their goals. Students have the opportunity to explore and learn at their own pace.
For FY25, more than 13,000 students participated in virtual and home educational services.
