The School Police Community Engagement team demonstrated a strong commitment to raising awareness
about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through school visits, community outreach, and educational events,
they actively shared information and cultivated a deeper understanding of ASD among students, staff, and
the broader community. Their efforts helped bridge the gap between law enforcement and students on the
spectrum, ensuring these students received the academic and social support they needed.
The department introduced a specially designed badge to symbolize autism awareness, serving as a daily reminder
of our commitment to understanding, inclusion, and support for students on the autism spectrum.
District police officers participate in Village of Wellington autism event.
