                                    148 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTACADEMIC PROFESSIONAL LEARNINGThe District advanced student success by expanding job-embedded professional learning for teachers. Educators implemented new instructional strategies, resulting in measurable gains in classroom engagement and student achievement. This focus on continuous improvement helps schools become active learning communities.Targeted Learning for Student SuccessAnnual training was streamlined into four key pillars to maximize educator growth and student outcomes:1. Instructional staff mastered Florida standards in math and English Language Arts. A targeted focus on K-2 foundational reading resulted in improved early literacy rates.2. New teacher academies in science and specialized cohorts empowered expert educators to mentor colleagues, broadening instructional expertise across the District.3. Specialized professional learning expanded support for gifted and enrichment programs, reading interventions, and English Language Learners, reaching more diverse student populations.4. Collaborations with Cambridge and the College Board delivered training for their respective accelerated courses. These partnerships also broadened access to character and life skills education.Professional Learning Communities Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) foster collaboration and data-driven instruction, enabling teachers to respond quickly to student needs and share effective practices. This teamwork energized educators, updated teaching methods, and led to higher student achievement in FY26.SCALING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING THROUGH ELEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMSThe District%u2019s eLearning Management (eLM) system expanded course offerings and contributed to an increase of 2,476 active, trained instructors in FY26. This centralized platform enabled leaders to implement a robust training framework, track progress, provide targeted feedback, and plan for emerging instructional needs. Professional learning opportunities for instructional and non-instructional staff expanded to support all District-operated schools as well as Title II charter schools.FY26 marked a shift toward automation and strategic partnerships. The Certification Office and eLearning staff launched an auto-enrollment system for teacher recertification, reducing processing time to two weeks. A new partnership with Beacon Educator enabled staff to enroll in and complete ESOL endorsement courses directly on the eLM platform.
