                                    144 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORT1COMMITTED AND IMPACTFUL EMPLOYEES Objective 1: Ensure all employees have the environment, support, skills, and resources for excellence.RECRUITMENT AND RETENTIONThe Department of Recruitment & Retention focused on attracting, hiring, and retaining high-quality talent aligned with District values. The department managed more than 7,000 hires and transfers, including 1,898 teachers, 1,859 non-instructional staff, and 112 administrators, ensuring schools and departments remained fully staffed. A dedicated team of Human Resources (HR) partners provided direct support to schools and departments, guiding principals and directors on best practices in recruitment, selection, and retention. The Human Capital Management Dashboard enabled data-driven decisions that strengthened workforce stability.To address teacher shortages and build a sustainable talent pipeline, the department prioritized the District Grow Our Own program for non-instructional staff and students interested in teaching careers. Key supports included professional learning aligned with certification pathways, mentorship, and financial assistance for continuing education. Hiring Process StatisticsDemonstrating both efficiency and scale, the department delivered high-impact staffing outcomes across all employee groups while coordinating complex onboarding processes with multiple stakeholders, including Risk Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Compensation, Employee Information Services, HR Operations, and School Police.
