EDUCATE | AFFIRM | INSPIRE 67ELEVATING STUDENT VOICE AND CHOICE IN EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCESThe Student Voice initiative achieved full and consistent implementation across all District-operated schools. Built on the critical roles of Student Engagement Mentors and representative Student Voice Councils, this foundation empowers learners to be meaningful partners in shaping the educational environment. These councils drive actionable change by leading campus solutions, such as:%u2022 Facilitating peer-led lessons.%u2022 Creating informative podcasts.%u2022 Launching campaigns that promote a positive school culture.Active engagement in complex policy discussions, such as those on dress code and disciplinary actions, demonstrates a commitment to collaborative decision-making and a deeper understanding of District expectations.Momentum continued to grow at the second annual FutureMakers Forum. Participation increased by 91%, rising from 207 students in FY25 to 396 in FY26. A dedicated group of 60 chaperones and 28 volunteers supported this expansion, demonstrating a shared investment by local schools and the community. The event featured 19 sessions, with student leaders taking ownership by facilitating 15 of the sessions. Emphasizing agency and leadership, the forum remains a valuable experience that highlights the District%u2019s commitment to student voice.STUDENT CLIMATE COALITION: AMPLIFYING STUDENT VOICE FOR SUSTAINABILITYThe Student Climate Coalition (SCC) provides a forum for learners to engage in District-wide sustainability initiatives and develop leadership and civic skills. Students from various regions worked together on projects that connected campus activities to broader community impact. Key initiatives included:%u2022 Creating a digital environmental magazine.%u2022 Coordinating a community beach cleanup.%u2022 Presenting environmental topics to youth at local elementary schools.Bear Lakes MS Student Voice Council working on a positive school culture campaign
