68 SUPERINTENDENT ANNUAL REPORTParticipants engaged in a career panel featuring professionals from the government, business, nonprofit, and marketing sectors. This event introduced attendees to various environmental career pathways. SCC members strengthened public speaking and advocacy skills by preparing and delivering speeches at a School Board meeting. Monthly project calendars supported planning, implementation, and reflection aligned with sustainability education, leadership development, and community engagement.Recycle Right ManiaRecycle Right Mania is a District-wide, student-led recycling competition designed to improve waste diversion at high school football games. Participating schools reported data from 13 home sporting events, showing that they consistently applied sustainable practices in busy, public settings. Key program achievements included:%u2022 More than 700 pounds of recyclable and compostable materials such as bottles, cans, cardboard, and food waste were recovered.%u2022 The first-place school achieved a waste diversion rate of over 90% and independently collected more than 500 pounds of waste.%u2022 All winning campuses earned a combined $6,000 in prize money.The School Board formally recognized these successful participants. Furthermore, a professionally produced promotional video highlighted student efforts. Partnerships with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County supported the initiative%u2019s implementation.Sustainability and Career ReadinessThe District continues to prioritize sustainability as a valuable component of a purpose-driven education. By integrating environmental stewardship with career exploration, students are better prepared for the future workforce and equipped to become community leaders. Highlighted FY26 programming featured several key initiatives:%u2022 Engineering and STEM professionals from TLC Engineering Solutions delivered hands-on presentations at HL Watkins MS and Palm Beach Lakes Community HS, driven by a partnership between Environmental & Conservation Services (ECS) and the District%u2019s STEM team.%u2022 Supporting 80 grade 5 students from Jupiter ES on a marine science expedition to the Newfound Harbor Marine Institute, funded by the Sidney Friedman Foundation.%u2022 Collaborating with the Guy Harvey Foundation, Brightmark, ECS, and the District%u2019s STEM team, 40 grade 4 students led a beach cleanup and completed an interactive lesson at Loggerhead Marinelife Center.Palm Beach Central HS celebrates Recycle Right Mania.
