110 FY25 Wellness Promotion Policy (WPP) Annual Report Back to MenuPhysical EnvironmentEnvironmental & Conservation Services%u2019 (ECS) Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) program is an integral component of the department%u2019s mission to provide healthy, sustainable, learning and working environments for all students, staff, and visitors to District facilities. The IAQ program provides services directly to school centers through IAQ assessments and environmental remediation projects related to hazards such as water damage, mold, odors, infectious disease, fire, flood response, and natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados, heavy inundations, and localized flooding. During FY25, IAQ staff completed a total of 720 IAQ inspections, of which 518 IAQ projects were required.Indoor Air QualityECS staff, certified in asbestos management, successfully coordinated eleven (11) asbestos abatement projects and four (4) demolitions. They also assisted with the abatement and demolition of several Facility Construction re-modernization projects. Asbestos inspections were conducted at twenty-three (23) schools, with each school inspected twice in FY25.ECS manages the Indoor Air Quality and Infectious Disease Services Contract for the District. In FY25, ECS provided sanitizing support to schools and other District facilities by utilizing environmental contractors under the guidance of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County%u2019s Epidemiology Department, the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, and the District%u2019s Health Services Specialist. During FY25, ECS logged 104 Infectious Disease incidents, and provided sanitizing support for 85 infectious disease incidents using environmental contractors.
