On behalf of the Department of Exceptional Student Education (ESE), I
would like to thank staff, parents, and our community for their resilience
and perseverance in doing what’s best for our students during these
very trying and unusual times. We have worked tirelessly to redefine
processes, systems, and expectations to ensure that we are providing
equitable access to programming for students and families safely in
person, virtually, and in the blended learning environment. ESE staff has and continues to
support program coordination, planning, servicing of students, and providing guidance and
professional development to instructional and non-instructional staff as well as to parents/
caregivers. We are proud to share that our graduation rates for students with disabilities
continue to increase as we continue to focus on improving student achievement and
successful post-school outcomes. We are committed to providing continuous support and
quality service to our students, schools, parents, and community stakeholders.
