HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS



        Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing
                                                                                 Available School Options
        The Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing program provides hands–on training
        in a fully integrated, state–of–the–art facility. This academy prepares students for   Choice
        employment in the auto body and refinishing industry and for post–secondary     · Park Vista Community High
        education. The program content includes the following: basic trade skills, refinishing   In–House: None available
        skills, sheet metal repair skills, frame and unibody squaring and aligning, use of fillers,
        paint systems and undercoats, related welding skills, related mechanical skills, trim–
        hardware maintenance, glass servicing and other miscellaneous repairs. The course
        content also includes training in communication, leadership, human relations, and
        employability skills and safe efficient work practices. There are no eligibility criteria
        required for students applying to this program.
        Automotive Service Technology                                            Available School Options
        The Automotive Service Technology program provides hands–on training in a fully
        integrated, computerized, state–of–the art facility. This academy prepares students   Choice
        for employment and/or specialized training in the automotive industry including     · Park Vista Community High
        Automotive Lubrication, Automotive Brake System, Automobile Suspension   In–House
        and Steering, Automotive Electrical/Electronic System and Automotive Engine     · Seminole Ridge Community High
        Performance. This program focuses on understanding and demonstration of the
        following elements of the automotive industry: planning, management, finance,
        technical and product skills, as well as the underlying principles of technology, labor
        issues, community issues and health, safety and environmental issues. There are no
        eligibility criteria required for students applying to these programs.
        Band/Music Industry
        The core curriculum for students interested in pursuing the Band/Music Industry   Available School Options
        academy is Music Theory, Advanced International Certificate in Education (AICE)
        Music for college credit, Commercial Music, and band or chorus ensembles. The   Choice
        Music academy offers honors credits in instrumental and vocal music as well as a     · Santaluces Community High

        experiences.  The Commercial Music course is designed for students interested in the
        production of popular music. The commercial music track covers all different aspects
        related to music production in today’s music industry. All students applying to this
        program must meet the following eligibility criteria: 2.0 GPA.
        Biomedical Sciences
        The Biomedical Sciences program, in collaboration with local universities and medical   Available School Options
        schools, is design to increase interest in Medicine and Biomedical Research and to
        mentor and prepare students to compete at the highest levels of college and post–  Choice
        graduate studies. This program is a continuation of the middle school Biomedical     · Lake Worth Community High
        Sciences program at Lake Worth Middle and Roosevelt Middle. First choice applicants   In–House: None available
        for Lake Worth High School continuation of the Biomedical Sciences who have
        satisfactorily completed middle grades program and who meet the program eligibility
        requirements will be assigned to the partner high school. Accelerated Biomedical
        Sciences students may enroll in Dual Enrollment courses with Palm Beach State
        College, and/or take AICE and AP courses, and sit for several industry certification
        exams in healthcare. The goal of this accelerated honors program is for students
        to receive as many college credits during high school and apply to the 6–7 year
        B.S./M.D. or B.A./M.D. programs at several medical schools throughout the United
        States upon high school graduation. All students applying to this program must meet
        the following eligibility criteria: 3.0 GPA and Algebra I Honors.
