Continuing solid relationships with local and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), the HR partner team
attended numerous job fairs in FY24, both in-state and out-of-state, including Florida Atlantic University, Florida A&M
University, Florida State University, Palm Beach State College, Florida International University, Florida Gulf Coast University,
Nova Southeastern University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, University of Florida, University of Central Florida, Central
New York Area Teacher Recruitment Day (TRD), Western NY, PERC, and the Great Florida Teach-In. These efforts resulted
in offers of unassigned contracts with placements at some of the schools with the highest priority needs. The department
also met and consistently communicated with future graduates to create a pipeline of potential candidates for years to
come.
Team Palm Beach Job Fair
The department curated a mailing list with over 24,000 potential instructional candidates interested in working with the
District. Job flyers were created for the schools with their current openings and sent to those on the mailing list. This
recruitment tool was instrumental in making multiple hires.
The Department of Recruitment and Retention partnered with the Department of Strategic Communications &
Engagement to develop a successful marketing and social media campaign to reach potential candidates through various
channels including radio, television (including Spanish programming), streaming services, digital ad panels, bus shelter
advertisements, geofencing, and magazine campaigns. These efforts significantly bolstered recruitment endeavors.
Additionally, the department hosted a series of virtual recruitment chats, allowing prospective candidates to engage with
administrators while providing information about alternative certification options. These sessions proved to be instrumental
in securing numerous hires for priority schools. The team designed, produced, and delivered informative A-frame signs
showcasing the multiple opportunities and benefits of joining our team of dedicated professionals at each school in the
District. Finally, a vetted teacher applicant pool was created exclusively for candidates with current Statements of Eligibility
(SOE), which was shared with principals District-wide, expediting the filling of vacancies.
