23OneBlood, Inc. Blood Drives in the DistrictIn FY24, 87 blood drives were conducted across 23 high school campuses and four District department/facility sites, supporting blood donations. This ongoing partnership has provided significant benefits to the community and aims to make an even greater impact in FY25.Enhance WellnessThroughout the DistrictThe District had an exceptional opportunity to inspire students and staff to save lives in the 2nd year (FY24) of our ongoing five-year partnership with OneBlood, Inc. Students and staff from the District visited OneBlood%u2019s Big Red Bus to save lives and donated 3,722 units of blood. This collaboration directly benefited 11,166 patients as each donation helps to save up to three lives.The District%u2019s partnership with OneBlood not only educates students on the vital impact of blood donation in saving lives but also instills a sense of community responsibility in them. Furthermore, this partnership extends its support by providing the District with the Educational Assistance and Scholarship Program, and additional funds to the Risk & Benefits Management Department for efforts in employee wellness. This partnership also offers job shadowing opportunities where appropriate, as well as clinical and/or other placements for medical academy students to the Medical Sciences Academies, Choice and Career Options Department, and the Adult and Community Education Department.
